Paradise Under The Sea By Jeff Ackley
Saturday, July 26th, 2008These were taken with a Nikon D300 SLR, and a Tokina 10-17mm fisheye in an Aquatica housing.
This Bearded Fire Worm was found on Dominica. It is only a few inches long, but its name comes from a very painful burning sensation that occurs when touched. This digital photo was converted to black and white after being shot.
This reclusive Blenny was hiding in a cave inside his favorite piece of coral on Dominica. They are very skittish and must be approached very slowly to photograph.
This burrfish was found on a night dive in Dominica, the spines behind him are actually pieces of soft coral.
This cleaner shrimp was waiting for a fish to come by so it could make a meal out of any parasites that were living on it. This particular one was about an inch long, and was found in dominica.
